TIPS top tip
Breastmilk is the perfect treatment
for sticky eyes and is used all the
time in the developing world for
minor eye conditions. Just a couple
of drops in the affected eye and
within 24 hrs the eye should be clear.
I know because I have tried this out
on my own babies!

Welcome to the second issue of our TIPS e- newsletter. With each issue I

TIPS on breastfeeding, baby skincare and other related topics.
.. Feedback from new look TIPS website..
..............
I am thrilled to say the response to our new look TIPS website has been
amazing and you have been queuing up to become members and parent
testers! I have personally interviewed each new tester and the latest TIPS test
on breast pads and treatments is well underway (look out for the results later in
the summer). I have been drowning under a sea of washable and disposable
pads and nipple creams that are good enough to eat! The competitions have
also been a success and you can see the winning entries in this e- newsletter.
You may have noticed I have added a question on the registration form asking
for the top three problems you encountered while breastfeeding. This will give
me an idea of what help is vital during those early weeks. I can already tell you
that almost half of the FAQs I answer as a breastfeeding consultant are a
direct result of conflicting advice. This is why I have decided to publish FAQs
on skincare and related topics, in addition to the breastfeeding FAQs already
on the TIPS website. As a wee treat for your little ones, we will also be adding
some animated TIPS ducks to the members area so they can also feel part of
the TIPS community. If you have any other suggestions for what you would like
included then feel free to email us.

Kathryn and Nigel came to me before they
published their excellent website and I was happy
to be their online consultant. My breastfeeding FAQs are featured alongside my
article on skin-to-skin contact. They have also
agreed to advocate safe skincare for newborns by
recommending all baby skincare products are
avoided for at least the first month of life. This is a
great resource and I am pleased to be able to
recommend it to new parents.
… TIPS featured event....
I am delighted to be joining the team at Mother &
Baby Magazine to answer questions on baby
skincare issues for monthly live webchats. These
will run from April to September (see diary page for details). I would like to thank Persil Non-Bio
and Comfort Pure for sponsoring this event and
look forward to lots of interesting questions. The
resulting FAQs will be posted on the TIPS website
so that everyone can benefit from the latest and
safest advice.

by Janey Lee Grace
This is Janey Lee Grace's second
book in this series. The first book,
Imperfectly Natural Woman was an Amazon.co.uk bestseller last year and this looks ready to
become another winner. I helped
Janey with some of her tips on baby skincare so check out her book for common sense advice
that is nonetheless realistic

.........Baby Skincare Products - its all in the labelling....

legislation involved regarding the labelling of
personal care products and the responsibility of
large companies to provide accurate and
evidence based information to its customers.
I will also be back in Bristol to present my

webinar in February was a great success and

.... TIPS featured product ...Tummy tubs ........
Tummy Tubs are an innovative product that allow babies to feel secure while
they are being bathed. The upright design simulates the security of the womb
and babies just love their bathtime experience right up to toddlerhood. They
also make great hampers and the winner of the TIPS spring newsletter
competition (and that includes this summer newsletter competition winner) will
receive their TIPS goodies inside a Tummy Tub. Thanks to Christine at Tummy Tubs and congratulations on an excellent product.
