14 June 2009 Midirs and Safe hands for life – Walk for Life
MIDIRS Business Manager, Andy Fisher, is not only helping to promote this event but he has bravely agreed to take part in this expedition which leaves the UK on Sunday 14 June 2009.
Never one to shy away from a challenge, Andy pledged his personal support by signing up to the week long Walk for Life. A team of 20 dedicated individuals will set off for North-West Spain to begin the testing 130 kilometre walk in aid of the SafeHands for Mothers’ Pilgrims Walk for Life fund-raising campaign, which aims to raise £350,000 in support of safe motherhood in Ethiopia.
Money raised from sponsorship of this event will help provide high quality films and visual materials to support government and nongovernmental training and advocacy programmes. Portable, robust solar powered DVD players enable SafeHands to take training where it is most needed – the remote and isolated areas.

Educational, inspiring and fun, the NCT annual conference is the highlight of the year for members. The conference is a great place to improve skills and knowledge, gain a better understanding of the NCT and its plans for the future, celebrate achievements and hear success stories from other NCT branches that will inspire and guide activities for the coming year.
